土木工学部門 社会基盤マネジメント分野（河川・流域工学研究室）
３．専門分野
水工学。これからの時代の水理学・水文学を切り拓く研究分野。
４．担当講義
工学院では環境フィールド工学専攻に関わる講義（英語による講義）及び学生指導等を担当する。
公共政策大学院では自然災害、災害危機管理等に関連した講義（日本語による講義）を担当する。
工学部では土木工学に関連する講義、実験、演習（英語の講義を含む）及び学生指導等を担当する。
また、学科・学部共通科目、全学教育科目を担当する。
５．応募資格
(1) 上記専門分野に関して十分な研究指導能力を有し、教育に意欲のある方
(2) 着任時に博士の学位または Ph.D.を有する方
(3) 研究、教育、および大学の運営に必要な日本語と英語の能力を有する方
６．採用予定 令和６年 10 月 1 日以降のできるだけ早い時期

Job Opening – Associate Professor in Division of Civil Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering, Hokkaido University invites applications for an academic position of associate professor according to the following description:
1. Position Title: Associate Professor: (Tenured)
2. Division: Division of Civil Engineering
3. Research Area: Hydroscience and hydraulic engineering. Research field that pioneers hydraulic and/or hydrologic technology in the coming era.
4. Scope of Work:
(1) Teaching Duties: Graduate courses in English for the Division of Field Engineering for the Environment in the Graduate School of Engineering, and graduate courses in Japanese related to natural disasters and disaster risk management in the Public Policy School.
In the School of Engineering, undergraduate courses, laboratories, and exercises in Japanese/English for the Courses of Civil Engineering, and Public Policy Engineering, as well as courses common in the School, the Department of Socio-Environmental Engineering, and the Courses. General education courses
(2) Supervising Duties: Thesis supervision for undergraduate and graduate students
(3) Other Dutie: Duties (primarily in Japanese) as Faculty/Division/Course committee members, etc.
5. Minimum Qualifications
(1) Ability to supervise research in the above specialized fields in addition to enthusiasm toward teaching and advising students
(2) Doctorate or Ph.D. at the time of appointment
(3) Ability to perform research, education, and administration duties in both Japanese and English
6. Expected Start Date Oct. 1, 2024 or earliest possible date thereafter
7. Deadline for Application: The application must arrive no later than May 17, 2024
